Entebbe and Lake Victoria

I forgot to include pictures from one of the best parts of the East Africa Sampler - our visit to Entebbe and the shores of Lake Victoria. It was absolutely beautiful there!

The view from the restaurant overlooking Lake Victoria. It doesn't get much better than eating a fabulous fish lunch with a view like this.

We spent most of our time in Entebbe at the Wildlife Sanctuary, where you can see some of the rarest animals in Uganda up-close. This is the famed shoe-billed stork, which is supposed to be really hard to spot in the wild.

Enjoying the walk to see the animals. Such a great day!

The chimps were by far the most entertaining animals we saw. There were 8 or 10 of them in the Sanctuary, and they spent most of their time playing with each other or swinging from the trees.

These monkeys weren't part of the exhibits, but they were everywhere!

Another incidental visitor to the Sanctuary. I think I may have enjoyed the animals that wandered in just as much as the ones who were permanent residents.

Our flight left at sunset from the Entebbe airport, which is right on the edge of Lake Victoria. Seeing the lake in the fading evening light was absolutely beautiful.
